Practical guidance
Start with the condition, not the label. A bite report, odor complaint, insect sighting, damp room, wood powder, or guest concern may require different next steps. The purpose of the review is to avoid guessing.
What to avoid first
- Do not move suspect items through the property before guidance.
- Do not promise permanent clearance without documentation and follow-up limits.
- Do not use unsafe DIY heat or space-heater methods.
- Do not discard useful evidence before taking photos.
- Do not treat heat as a replacement for removal, cleaning, testing, or licensed coordination where those are required.
What to have ready
- Take clear photos of signs, rooms, contents, moisture, or insects.
- Write down when the issue was first noticed.
- Identify who has access to the room or unit.
- List what has already been cleaned, moved, discarded, or treated.
- Decide whether the property needs a treatment record, room release, or certified-room documentation.
What the client should know
The right process makes the next step easier. Vermont Safe Heat uses treatment, thermal remediation, documentation, and communication as connected parts of the same confidence layer.
Good documentation protects the client from confusion, overpromising, and repeated uncertainty.
